“It’s not silly,” says Sharon Bolger, who designs garments for dogs with slogans such as “Does this shirt make me look fat?” There’s no such thing as too cute for I See Spot, a line of canine dresses, sweaters, and raincoats. Fashion designers Bolger and Sandy Maroney created the collection six years ago after meeting through their accountant and discovering they were disillusioned with the industry. From their Vernon headquarters they outfit dogs from one to 65 pounds in everything from dog-park casuals to wedding gowns with veils. Need to dress the entire wedding party? There are onesies that say “Flower Girl” and a pink number that boasts “Always the Bridesmaid.” “OK,” admits Bolger, “it’s a little silly.”
