The Chateau Marmont’s watering hole is back under the hotel’s auspices after years of being leased out. The crowd is still way-cool and the interiors are still louche—old-fashioned light fixtures, low wattage, butterflies tacked to the ceiling, close-packed tables and banquettes. The change is in the menu, thanks to Carolynn Spence, who comes from NYC’s Spotted Pig. Along with snacks like Boozy Bacon Prunes, she’s serving interesting appetizers—braised oxtail bruschetta and roasted artichoke salad with goat cheese—as well as full-on entrées like sheep’s milk ricotta gnocchi and an appropriately named Damn Good Burger with house-made ketchup. Decided minus: $18 valet parking fee.
