Christmas Eve:

Cook’s County
This Christmas Eve, Cook’s County will be open for business with its regular menu offerings, plus holiday specials including prime rib with a horseradish and potato galette, and a flaming Christmas pudding with hard sauce. You can also order one of pastry chef Roxanna Jullapat’s scrumptious holiday pies, such as black bottom maple pecan, cranberry chess, or southern chocolate for $35 each.

Celebrate Christmas Eve with an a la carte menu of chef Suzanne Tracht’s favorite dishes. Choose from the grilled Kansas City steak, mussels with lobster bernaise and fennel salt, or Char Siu pork chops, and complete your meal with Jar’s famous Butterscotch Pudding.

On Christmas Eve, in addition to the regular menu, Josie will offer elk chops, and a $68 prix fixe menu, including a special roast goose with huckleberry sauce and pastry chef Jonna Jensen’s classic Bûche de Noël. If you need a change in scenery (or more booze) you can go to Next Door for an all-night happy hour, featuring a spiced hot apple cider cocktail.

For a truly decadent Christmas Eve feast, Mélisse is offering a super indulgent five-course dinner for $150, plus an additional $60 if you’d like to add the truffle risotto with mascarpone and shaved truffles. For your main course, you can choose between a prime filet of beef with twice baked potato parmentier and king oyster mushrooms, or a Sonoma duck breast and confit with blood orange, dates, and leeks, but the truly difficult decision comes down to dessert—fig and apple tart with pistachios and fig compote, or a chocolate crunch cake with eggnog ice cream and salted caramel?

Napa Valley Grille
From Christmas Eve until the ball drops on January 31st, Napa Valley Grille will serve a selection of festive a la carte dishes, including a chestnut agnolotti with handmade pasta, port, mascarpone, and beurre fondue, and a pancetta-wrapped venison chop with parmesan potatoes, creamed spinach, and black truffle. Seasonal desserts include a rustic apple galette with salted caramel and vanilla gelato, and a Frangelico tiramisu with candied hazelnut and espresso anglaise.

Patina Restaurant
Choose between three courses ($55), four courses ($75) or, if you plan on hibernating all winter, seven courses ($117) at Patina’s Christmas Eve dinner. Notable selections include scallops with parsnip and parsley coulis, a tasting of veal with Brussels sprouts, Tokyo turnip and pearl onion, and a Buche de Noel au Citron with mandarin confit.

There’s no better way to kick off Christmas Eve dinner than with a caviar flight, followed by a prix-fixe menu featuring butternut squash soup, chestnut ravioli, your choice of pork loin roulade or Maine Lobster, and, to finish it off, dark chocolate mousse or a white peach tart with pistachio gelato. How much will this luxurious spread set you back? A mere $150!

Ray’s & Stark Bar
Ray’s and Stark Bar’s three-course Christmas Eve dinner will be offered for $55, comprised of a Sunchoke soup with truffle cream and black trumpet mushrooms, cotechino sausage with braised greens and lentils, and almond spice cake with eggnog ice cream and Meyers rum.

Tavern invites you to a customary Italian Christmas Eve meal, known as the Feast of the Seven Fishes, which traditionally includes seven different types of fish (naturally). The five-course dinner will be available for $70 per person, and will include dishes such as a crab and squid salad with saffron vinaigrette and shaved fennel, mussels and clams in a spicy tomato broth over pasta, and seared halibut with lobster and wild mushroom risotto.

Trattoria Neapolis
Pasadena’s Trattoria Neapolis is also serving up a take on the Feast of the Seven Fishes. The trattoria’s menu will feature salt cod with Yukon gold potato, seared Branzino with sweet onion agrocolce and white polenta, and a Tuscan seafood stew with prawns, sturgeon, calamari, octopus, and black mussels. The dinner is available for $55 per person. Buon Natale!

Valentino will offer a special five-course tasting menu on Christmas Eve, with dishes like warm Maine lobster salad with spiced Sicilian couscous, squid ink ravioli with seafood ragu, and a roasted veal. For dessert? Penettone pudding with gelato and berries. The menu will be served for $90 per person.

Christmas Day:

Oliverio Restaurant at Avalon Beverly Hills
Forget the ham—on Christmas day, Oliverio is serving up an Italian dinner of lamb chops with potato gratin and white asparagus, and sea bass with white wine and zucchini. The four-course meal is $65, and includes a glass of prosecco and coffee or tea.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day:

Gordon Ramsay at The London
For $95, you can indulge in Christmas dinner at Gordon Ramsay at the London, which includes roasted chestnut soup, tuna carpaccio, duck Breast, butter poached lobster, Bûche de Noel, and Eggnog Crème Brûlé.

The Pikey
All day on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, the Pikey is serving up special holiday dishes to supplement their regular menu, including Matzo ball soup, Pigs in a Blanket with baked onions and Brussels sprouts, a roast goose dinner complete with trimmings, and—true to their British roots—mince pies with clotted cream. But let’s be real, Christmas is stressful and you’re probably there for the drinks. The Pikey is mixing up holiday cocktails such as a holiday milk punch with bourbon, milk, vanilla liqueur, and nutmeg on the rocks, or a vegan Soy Nog with spiced rum.

Scarpetta at the Montage Beverly Hills
Refuel after all that gift-unwrapping at Scarpetta’s Christmas Day Buffet. Comforting pastas (pumpkin tortelli), seasonal veggies (butternut squash with pumpkin seeds and burrata), and savory meats (porchetta with apple mustarda) abound. Access to the buffet costs $88 for adults, $35 for children; add unlimited mimosas, Bloody Marys and Bellinis for an additional $22, and have yourself a merry little Christmas.

Whist Restaurant at the Viceroy Santa Monica
If the traditional Christmas Eve spread feels a little been-there-done-that, switch it up with Whist’s Chinese prix-fixe dinner. For just $35 for adults and $15 for children, you can experience Christmas Eve as never before (or, you know, like the Jews). If you’d rather let someone else do the work on Christmas day, Whist’s brunch buffet is Santa’s gift to you for $65 for adults and $25 for children.

Take Out:

Auntie Em’s Kitchen
Whether you want a complete dinner with turkey or ham, a veggie-friendly meal featuring wild mushroom lasagna, or just a little help with a la carte appetizers, Eagle Rock’s Auntie Em’s Kitchen has it under control. Blue cheese and roasted pecan dip with winter crudité, pumpkin chipotle soup, pecan pie or eggnog cupcakes with cinnamon cream cheese frosting can add just the right touch to your holiday meal. Orders must be placed by December 22.

The Larder at Tavern
Chef Suzanne Goin has prepared an extensive take-home holiday menu for Christmas Eve from the Larder at Tavern. A complete dinner with rib roast, brussels sprouts, spinach and mashed potatoes, and plenty of desserts is available for $399 (serves eight). A la carte items include appetizers and sides such as AOC dates with bacon and Parmesan, homemade breads and rolls, salads, main courses such as a bourbon-glazed ham or roasted salmon with cucumber yogurt. Holiday cookies and an apple crumble tart are also available for dessert. To top it all off, you can get breakfast items for Christmas morning (hallelujah), like a spinach and cheddar frittata and pecan sticky buns. Orders must be placed by Sunday, December 21.
