What’s up Downtown? There are two new and notable lunch options, thanks to A-list chefs Neal Fraser and Josef Centeno.
Fraser’s Redbird starts serving its Tuesday-Friday lunch today at 11:30 a.m. and will offer some dinner-menu favorites like an avocado salad with smoked bacon, and a Thai-style Dungeness crab soup, but the lunch menu also has a new burger (double patty with cheddar) and fries, as well as a hanger steak and Mary’s Chicken with preserved lemon, olives, wild fennel, and carrots. Like at dinner, the chocolate caramel bar could be hard to resist for those who want dessert.
Redbird’s lunch will debut one day after Centeno’s Orsa & Winston, known for its “super omakase” dinners a few blocks away, started its own Tuesday-Friday lunch with three grain bowls: tuna crudo, beef curry, and seasonal vegetables. DineLA’s Stacey Sun went on the first day, Instagrammed her crudo bowl, and declared: “This will be part of my regular lunch rotation now.”
