Beer Float Thursday at the Surly Goat – 6/13
The Surly Goat teams with McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams for a night of boozy beer floats—for only $5 apiece. The menu will feature four float creations, from the Dirty Rascal to the Turkish Velvet. Try one, or make a night of it with the whole gang. More information.
$1 Hot Dog Day at Hot Dog on a Stick – 6/13
Celebrate what would have been Hot Dog on a Stick founder Dave Barham’s 100th birthday this Thursday with $1 hot dogs. From 4 to 8 p.m. all 100 company locations will be serving reduced-price hot dogs dipped in their “secret” cornbread batter. More information.
Print Your Own Chocolate Wrapper Workshop at Compartés – 6/15
In conjunction with the third installation of the Good Enough to Eat exhibition series, the Craft in America Center will hold a print-your-own chocolate bar wrapper workshop and chocolate tasting this Saturday at Compartés. For $40 you can design your own wrapper while learning the fundamentals of monotype printing and the artistry of chocolate making. Sessions take place at noon and 2:30 p.m. Reservations are required. Chefs’ Dinner at Hotel Bel-Air’s Wolfgang Puck Restaurant – 6/18
Hotel Bel Air’s Wolfgang Puck, Momofuku’s David Chang, and Kogi’s Roy Choi will join forces Tuesday for an Ultimate Chefs Dinner, featuring an Asian-inspired five-course meal that uses farmers’ market ingredients. The $190 dinner is open to hotel guests as well as the general public; optional wine pairings are available for an additional $80. Reservations are required. More information.
Happy Hour and Spiked Lemonade Tasting in Culver City – 6/19
Come celebrate summer at downtown Culver City’s second annual Neighborhood Happy Hour & Spiked Lemonade Tasting. Any time between 5 and 9 p.m., you can pick up a “Third Wednesday Passport” from Melrose Mac or Lundeen’s Gifts and have it stamped each time you try a free sample of hard lemonade at any of the particpating restaurants, bars, and retailers. (Don’t worry, youngsters—there are virgin options as well.) As the day comes to a close, turn in your passport at the Kirk Douglas Theatre to be entered in a raffle for summery prizes.
