You Should Really Grab a Beer at This San Diego Brewery’s DTLA Tasting Room

The Dankness Dojo is your new favorite hang

Beer, Drinking Comments

San Diego-based brewery Modern Times is known for producing funky, flavorful beers with quirky names. The Dankness Dojo, its vibrant L.A. tasting room in downtown’s South Park, continues the tradition. Doubling as a coffee roastery in the morning, the retro-pop beer hall— decorated with old Betamax tapes, comic strips, and piñatas—attracts evening crowds with a vegan pub menu and a vast selection of taps.

The Drinks

For sour beer fans, there’s the Elemental Magic, infused with guavas from Mexico and Brazil. Dark beer lovers should try the whiskey- barrel-aged Devil’s Teeth imperial stout flavored with New Orleans-style coffee. And for hop heads: a hazy, tropical, extra-dank double IPA called Port Sunlight.
