The silver lining to the anti-gay remarks by Barilla’s CEO? Another excuse to slurp up L.A.’s best house-made pastas


Oh, Guido….
Guido Barilla—CEO of the little blue box pasta company, Barilladoesn’t care much for gay people, it seems. And he doesn’t necessarily want them to like him either. In an Italian radio interview on Wednesday, Barilla got himself into some major hot pasta water by insisting that his company will not feature gay people in its advertisements because it likes “the traditional family.” He added, “If gays don’t like it, they can always eat another brand of pasta.”

Well, alrighty then.

Though Barilla has since released an apology for the interview on the company’s website, several gay rights advocates and Barilla customers are still calling for a #boicottabarilla. But what if you’re not a cook? Or what if you’re a Buitoni person and still want to show your solidarity?
