Made in Venice at The Gallery at 74 Market

Thinking about heading to Venice this weekend? Hit the hyper-local Made in Venice group show at The Gallery at 74 Market. The art inside should be just as vibrant as action out on the beach. Staged to coincide with the Venice Beach Biennial, the show features both the old guard and the young Turks of the Venice art scene. Curators (and exhibiting artists) Adrienne Adar and Isabelle Alford-Lago have tapped Larry Bell, Ed Moses, Edith Baumann, Andy Moses, Ollie Bell, Cesario “Block” Montano, and Lisa Bartleson for the show. With bright colors, a sense of humor, and references to the city’s skate culture, the art is infused with the spirit of Venice. Gaze at the newest abstract paintings from father and son Ed and Andy Moses, minimalist sculptures by Bell, and skate photographs by Montano, then head on down to the beach afterwards.

WHEN: June 30 – July 30; opening reception June 30, 7-10 p.m.
WHERE: The Gallery at 74 Market Street is 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and also by appointment.
