We know, we know. We’re still waiting for our sexy Freddy Krueger costume to come back from the cleaners and the retailers of America want us to start thinking about elves and wrapping paper. In the retail world, it’s never #toosoon. With Christmas a mere 48 days away, shopping malls are gearing up for the most lucrative time of the year. Here’s where to find the major Christmas tree lightings around Los Angeles this holiday season. And start prepping for Valentine’s Day, already.

13th Annual Tree Lighting Concert
Citadel Outlets
Nov. 8
The Citadel will put up what it claims is the world’s tallest Christmas tree this weekend. At 115-feet, it’s pretty tall. Attendees can enjoy free performances by Romeo, Josh Levi, Cimorelli, Christina Grimmie, and Jana Kramer.

12th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Spectacular
The Grove
Nov. 16, 7:30 p.m.
Get ready for the return of Santa. The annual tree lighting includes a live show overseen by Emmy-winning producer Brad Lachman as well as water show with multicolored lights at the Grove’s famous fountain.

The 7th Tree Lighting Ceremony
The Americana at Brand in Glendale
Nov. 19, 7:30 p.m.
The Americana invites visitors to witness its Christmas tree lighting, which includes holiday-themed performances and food at the shopping plaza.

Fashion Island Tree Lighting
November 14 and 15, 6 p.m.
Neiman Marcus / Bloomingdale¹s Courtyard in Newport Beach
The Disney-themed tree lighting welcomes visitors who can come and sing along with Mickey Mouse and friends. Teaming up with Disneyland Resort, the Newport Beach shopping center presents a magical world for children and adults. 

Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
Plaza El Segundo
November 21, 5-9 p.m.
The event features a variety of activities and performers for families including Wondertree Kids, the L.A. Kings Ice Crew, Strolling Carolers, an Elf on the Shelf scavenger hunt, photos with Santa, and more.

Beverly Hills Holiday Lighting Ceremony
Rodeo Drive
Nov. 23, 6 p.m.
150,000 lights will brighten Rodeo Drive. The ceremony will feature the return of French luxury lifestyle brand Baccarat, which will hang 16 chandeliers over the famous street.

Zoo Lights
Los Angeles Zoo
Nov. 28 – Dec. 11
Real live reindeer come to town for petting sessions with kids and their parents. The L.A. Zoo puts on its holiday swag and invites visitors to meet North American caribou. Visits with Santa (on selected dates) and holiday treats round out the holiday experience.

December 3, 8 p.m.
Celebrating Christmas with icehouses and snow in SoCal? It’s not a dream. The Long Beach ocean liner creates an arctic Christmas village with entertainment and treats for families.

Celebrating Christmas with family and friends on the beach. Balboa Village also hosts festivities, including cookie decorating, wooden boat building, tree lighting ceremony, and live music.

Dec. 13, 6 p.m.
Celebrate this year’s Christmas by attending the 94th Annual Christmas Tree Lane Lighting Ceremony & Winter Arts & Crafts Festival in Altadena. In 1885, John P. Woodbury of the Woodbury Family, the founders of Altadena, planted 134 trees along the road. Since 1920, Altadena residents have carried the tradition to welcome visitors to the once-a-year holiday kick-off ceremony.
