Gunman Sought In LAPD Detective Shooting
A manhunt is underway in the Mid-City area
A gunfight broke out in front of the Wilshire Division station of the Los Angeles Police Department early Tuesday morning when shots were fired at two undercover detectives. LAPD Chief Charlie Beck described the attack as “a blatant attempt to assassinate” law enforcement employees. According to reports, one detective sustained a head injury while the other suffered a hand injury; both are said to be minor.
A manhunt involving some 200 officers for the suspect or suspects (NBS is reporting police are looking for a black male with facial hair age 30 -35) involved in the ambush is now underway. A 25-block search was reduced to the area between Venice and Washington boulevards and West and Redondo boulevards this afternoon.
