Grammy Party At The Mayor’s House
Delta Air Lines (official airlines of the Grammy Awards) took over the backyard of Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s home, Getty House, for a dressy bash honoring L.A.’s music industry. I say dressy, as I clearly went a bit too artsy compared to the suits, dresses, and short furs I saw all around me. Nice to see folks dressed, though. The “official residence” of the Mayor is a lovely white brick mansion in Hancock Park and Delta went all out with great musician-inspired nibbles by Chef Michael Chiarello. Much like her performance Sunday night, the sea bass ceviche with one puff of glazed popcorn on top inspired by Nicki Minaj was a bit much, but everything else was sublime. The Mayor showed up about an hour into the festivities and then Raphael Saadiq performed. Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet popped in as did Christina Milian and Quincy Jones. I promise to dress better the next time I’m invited, Mr. Mayor.
