How to Take the Most L.A. Selfie

Because you were dying to know

While selfie was Oxford Dictionaries Word of the Year in 2013, the predilection for making oneself the subject of one's own photos and sharing them with the world has shown no signs of slowing. It feels like more and more of my friends are moving toward ironic (or un-ironic) self-photography on Instagram, people who previously never showed their faces. Sheesh, even I’ve posted eight in the past two months—a modest number—whereas I had never thought to do so before.

This stirred up some thoughts. If I am going to selfie (why not make it a verb now, too?) in L.A., it should be the most indulgent, the most ridiculous, the most absurd selfie in the selfie canon. The gears started turning and I had an “aha” moment: I must come up with the most L.A. selfie ever. So I brainstormed:
