Your debut memoir, out this month, is titled Everything Is Perfect When You’re a Liar. As a Canadian living in L.A., have you found yourself fibbing more?
I can’t think of an incident where I have lied to get something done or to get ahead. But if the rule isn’t written, then there isn’t a rule. There is always wiggle room. If there is a big line at a restaurant and an open table, then just sit down until somebody says you can’t sit there! I do that all the time.
