The keynote address of the 2012 L.A. Auto Show was titled "The Auto Industry: Architects of the Future." It couldn’t have been more different from last year's address, which could've been "We're Still Surviving, Somehow." The economic collapse of the past few years pushed car purchases down consumers' priority lists. This year, its rising once again. Most automakers are reporting sales gains of 20-30% over 2011's admittedly low numbers. The near future is still shaky, as the financial crisis in Europe is far from solved, but for the first time in years, the story of the auto show isn't one of bankruptcy or bailouts. It's about growth, and it’s best told through the cars that were on display. Check them out above.
