Q: Which restaurant is the oldest in L.A.?

A: If continuity is the key, then take off your cap and salute the 92-year-old Tam O’Shanter in Los Feliz. Other restaurants have been around longer, including Pacific Dining Car (1921), Barney’s Beanery (1920), Musso & Frank Grill (1919), Philippe the Original (1908), Cole’s (1908), Saugus Café (1887), and the recently resuscitated General Lee’s (1878), but only the Tam is in its original location and run by the family that founded it (in 1922).
