Huraclown, the “Best clown in all of Mexico,” is coming to the 24th Street Theatre in University Park the week of April 21st. Theater operators say they are “reinventing” children’s theater with a schedule including the tragedy King Lear, a depressing sounding play about a dead grandma, and four nights with Huraclown, the Marcel Marceau-trained entertainer with a background in the Russian circus arts. Promoters promise a “poignant and poetic journey that illuminates life’s profound sorrows and great joys.” Yikes! That’s a pretty heavy workload for a clown and a children’s theater.
