Video Village With Ask Chris: More On The Master

Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master has been playing to huge crowds (Including our editor Lesley Barger Suter) for a week now, but expands into wider release tomorrow. The movie, about a 1950’s spiritualist figure, is playing every thirty minutes at the Hollywood Arclight and I plan to materialize there this weekend. Check out this amazingly creepy pre-show that the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin plays before the film. I love their programming and events and seatside bartenders and whatnot and can’t wait to get their quirky programming (they have a Pee Wee Herman tequila dance-off and we don't?!) in Los Angeles, which should be in the next year or so.  This clip includes the '70s version of L. Ron Hubbard, who first introduced Dianetics at the Shrine Auditorium in 1950.

Great! Thanks Chris. And it's about time the Alamo people started colonizing the west coast.
